the chef

Born and raised east of the Forest City in Whitby, Ontario, Scott inherited his love of cooking from his mother and grandmother. Fresh-baked pies and family recipes were an exciting foray into the art and emotion of preparing meals to be enjoyed with loved ones. Not to mention the cook never had to wash the dishes!

After studying and later working at Fanshawe College among other properties in London, Chef Wesseling joined the Black Trumpet family where he has been leading a talented team of kitchen staff for more than five years.

“Every plate is the product of our team members’ combined effort, intellect, and passion. We offer a dining experience that is wholly unique to Black Trumpet, and every menu item we develop aims to raise the bar, offering guests unique and delightful memories.

It would be our pleasure to have you visit our local, family-run restaurant in the heart of downtown London! Let us prepare your new favourite dish and leave a lasting impression.
